Machocat's affection spills over into small bites and sharp kneads, natural Cat instincts. But I have had to help him understand that human skin is not protected by soft fluff, is more sensitive, that our bodies jump scare easily at pain and I understand our natural movements carry much more force relative to his size. Both of us must use soft paws. Both of us contain dangerous potential, sharpness, strength to wield. But not at those we love.
So we sit, pause, paw in hand, soft. Soft and soft and pause. Animals together.
